Anheiser Busch/Budweiser is a/the official sponsor/beer of the World Cup.  All around the World Cup the only beer you can get is Bud (I'm assuming here). . .the only beer brand that'll be shown on the tube is Bud.  So, a competing Dutch brand decided to get a bunch of Dutch fans to wear lederhosen with their brand name on it.  FIFA officials got the fans to watch the game in their undies.  So unfortunately, a guerrilla marketing campaign for beer turned into an ad for Haines.  I wonder what would have happened if underwear was also passed around.  The Dutch fans might have become walking ads for Nathan's.
